Grand Canyon Closes After Criticism Over Coronavirus Risk

The Grand Canyon National Park, one of the last major national parks to stay open during the coronavirus pandemic, was ordered closed Wednesday after calls for it to shutter by local officials and a native tribe that were supported by the park’s superintendent and the director of the National Park Service.
