Star breaks silence on Taylor Swift rumour

There might be a love story after all between Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift.

The Kansas City NFL star finally broke his silence on rumours that he and the 12-time Grammy winner are dating during an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Friday morning — and doubled down on shooting his shot with Swift, The New York Post reports.

“I threw it out there,” Kelce said, referring to his previous plan to give Swift a friendship bracelet at her concert in Kansas City, which he attended.

“I threw the ball in her court. I told her, ‘I’ve seen you rock the stage in Arrowhead [Stadium], you might have to come see me rock the stage in Arrowhead and see which one is a little more lit.

“So, we’ll see what happens in the near future,” he said, smirking, before adding his signature comment: “Alright now.”
 

Kelce also had a good laugh over his brother, Eagles centre Jason Kelce, who joked during a separate appearance on ESPN’s “Pat McAfee Show” on Wednesday that he’s the Ian Rapoport of his younger sibling’s dating life.

“It’s hilarious how much traction this thing has got,” said Travis, who compared the buzz about his personal life to a game of telephone, “where everyone is whispering” to each other.

“No one actually knows what’s going on, but especially when you got Jason Kelce on live television, telling people both sides. He doesn’t know — it’s true, it’s this and that,” Travis said.

“The guy is absolutely ridiculous — can’t stay out of frickin’ headlines.”

Travis was referring to when his older brother was asked about him and Swift following Philadelphia’s “Thursday Night Football” victory over the Vikings last week.

The tight end also referenced Jason’s comments this week when he said during an appearance on 94 WIP in Philadelphia that the dating rumours are “100 per cent true.”
 

Jason later walked back his comments, clarifying that he was joking.

Although Travis issued a PSA for people to stop asking his brother about his dating life, he said he doesn’t hate the attention.

“It’s life baby,” Travis quipped.

Swift has yet to address the buzz, but a new report has claimed there has been definite contact between them.

The pair have hung out twice and the pop sensation has found the Chiefs tight end to be “very charming,” The Messenger reported on Thursday.

“She and Travis have hung out twice, and it’s nothing serious. She thinks he is very charming, and they have been texting this last week,” a source told the outlet. 

“He is a little embarrassed at how much attention they are getting, but he has told her he would love to continue seeing her.”

The outlet also reported the two are “seeing where things go” and that Kelce, 33, does have some competition for her love.

The Messenger first reported the high-profile stars were “quietly hanging out.”
