Simone Biles has revealed she suffered a serious health scare this week after being rushed to hospital.
Biles shared the update on Instagram, opening up about what she described as one of the scariest experiences of her life, The Sun reports.
Her post read, “I’m not one to normally share things like this because I value privacy in today’s age.
“But almost dying wasn’t on my bingo card earlier this week.
“This was one of, if not the scariest experience of my life, especially since Jonathan was in Indy for practices.
“I’ve been in bed resting this week, I’ll explain sooner or later but s/o to my close circle who reached out, checked in, visited & or sent flowers.”
In a follow-up post, she shared a photo of her lying in bed with her dogs.
It also had a screenshot of her elevated resting heart rate and was captioned, “I’ll be here.”
Biles has not given further details on what caused the hospital visit, but she is believed to be recovering at home.
The 11-time Olympic medallist lives in Texas with her husband, NFL safety Jonathan Owens.
Owens was away from home at the time of the scare due to training commitments in Indianapolis.
The safety recently signed a one-year deal with the Colts after spending the past two seasons with the Chicago Bears.
Biles has not competed since the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, where she claimed three gold medals.
She has recently spoken about her future in the sport, admitting she is “50-50” on whether she will compete at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
With her 11 Olympic medals and 30 World Championship medals, she is the most decorated gymnast in history.
