Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have tried their best to put on a united front amid split rumours, but there’s one detail we may have missed.
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have tried their best to put on a united front — but the couple’s marriage has allegedly been over for months.
According to Page Six sources, they’ve been apart since March, but Affleck is “very protective of Jennifer.”
Rumours of the couple’s split hit fever pitch in May after Affleck was noticeably absent from Lopez’s side at major red carpet events — like the Met Gala, which she co-chaired this year.
He also didn’t accompany her to the premiere of her new Netflix project, Atlas.
Lopez then added fuel to the rumour mill when she liked an Instagram post about unhealthy relationships.
“You can’t build a relationship with someone who is disconnected from themselves,” said the post.
“I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down,” she told fans in her On the J Lo newsletter.
“Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary,” she added promising to make it up to her fans.
Back in May, a source told Page Six that Affleck had “come to his senses” about his and J Lo’s short-lived marriage and wanted to call it quits.
But aside from a few paparazzi-covered outings in Los Angeles — and the couple’s attendance at graduation for one of Affleck’s kids — J Lo recently hit Italy and France solo on vacation, and Affleck reportedly moved all of his belongings out of their $US60 million marital mansion while she was away.
They’re said to be selling their home just a year after they purchased it.
Reps for the couple did not comment.
On Sunday, Affleck was spotted visiting the home of his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner.
