As reports swirl about the state of her marriage to Barack Obama, Michelle’s latest solo project has become a disaster.
Michelle Obama’s latest venture has proven to become a humiliating failure after her brand new podcast failed to make a dent in the charts.
The podcast, which features Michelle and her brother, Craig Robinson, interviewing an array of famous faces, was expected to become a hit straight out the gate due.
However, sadly for Michelle, her launch has failed to make an impact, with the first two episodes ranking up just 62,000 viewers in the first 24 hours they were made available to stream on YouTube.
The numbers on Spotify also failed to hit any highs, with recent statistics placing it as the 34th most listened to show on the platform, according to the streamer’s charts.
IMO released two episodes initially, the first titled, You Should Start a Podcast with Your Sibling. The second episode featured executive producer and actress Issa Rae, and was titled, Some Friendships Need to Go.
The duo also have episodes featuring Hollywood stars such as Seth Rogen and his wife Lauren, psychology professor Dr. Laurie Santos, Keke Palmer, and podcaster Jay Shetty.
“This is extremely embarrassing,” commented one critic as the numbers were reported on X.
Another remarked: “Who was asking for a podcast from Michelle Obama though?”
The numbers mark a disappointment for Democrats in the US who are scrambling to find a “Joe Rogan of the left” after the controversial podcaster helped get Donald Trump elected due his popularity with young male voters.
Rogan is currently the most listened to podcaster in the world, clocking in at 39.9 million followers.
Meanwhile, it comes after Barack Obama made a shockingly honest revelation about the state of his marriage amid rumours he and wife Michelle are headed for divorce.
Barack hinted that he’s been working on repairing their almost 33-year marriage while addressing Hamilton College students on Thursday.
“This is like 50 term papers. I mean, it just goes on forever,” he said, according to the Daily Beast.
“I’m hoping to get to the finish line on that.
“Beyond that, look, I was in a deep deficit with my wife. So I have been trying to dig myself out of that hole by doing occasionally fun things.”
Michelle, 61, has also been vocal about the challenges of their marriage on the past, stating that she “couldn’t stand” her husband for a solid decade when their daughters — Malia, 26, and Sasha, 23 — “were little”
