The children of comedy royalty are coming together through marriage.
Jasmin Lawrence, daughter of Martin Lawrence, is engaged to Eric Murphy, son of Eddie Murphy, the couple revealed Saturday on Instagram.
In a joint post, they shared a romantic video that showed Murphy leading Lawrence into a room filled with candles and getting down on one knee in front of a giant heart on the wall. After seeing the ring, Lawrence could be heard saying, "It's beautiful!"
In the caption, they wrote, "God truly blessed us with a love that feels like destiny. We couldn't be more excited for this next chapter." According to the post, they got engaged the day before Thanksgiving.
Lawrence and Murphy confirmed their relationship in 2021. In an Instagram post that June, Murphy shared a photo of himself with Lawrence and wrote that he was "head over heels in LOVE" with her.

Lawrence told InTouch in 2022 that she and Murphy met through her uncle, not their fathers, who co-starred in the movies "Boomerang" and "Life."
"It wasn't even our dads, and they've done two movies together," she said. "They're friends. I don't even know. It's crazy. But we met through my uncle, and we became really good friends. We bonded on a lot of things. Obviously, we have similar backgrounds, so we understood each other on a certain level."

On "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" in 2022, Martin Lawrence said he and Eddie Murphy "haven't talked about" their children dating. "We kind of stay out of their business and let them do their own thing and respect their thing," he said.
Lawrence also joked that if their kids were to get married, he's "going to try to get Eddie" to pay for the wedding.
Murphy, meanwhile, quipped in an interview with CBS in July, "If they ever get married and have a child, I'm expecting the child to be funny."
