2 year oldBritney Spears has hit back at her sister’s bombshell allegation that she once locked the pair of them in a room together while holding a knife.
Jamie-Lynn Spears, 30, made the claim during an interview promoting her new memoir on the US TV show Nightline, alleging Britney grabbed a knife before barricading them both inside.
Taking to Twitter afterwards, the singer, 40, hit out at her sibling’s “crazy lies”, branding her a “scum person”.
“Jamie-Lynn … congrats babe!” Britney began sarcastically.
“You’ve stooped to a whole new level of LOW … I’ve never been around you ever with a knife or would I ever even think to do such! The only knife I ever saw you with at home was cutting the biggest pieces of squash I ever saw in my life and it was way too big for me to cut,” she said.
“So please, please stop with these crazy lies for the Hollywood books! NOW and only NOW I do know only a scum person would make up such things about someone.
“I’m actually very confused about you making that up because it’s honestly not like you at all!”
Britney finished up with: “Congrats on introducing your older sister (to) the concept of getting LOW … LOWER … LOWEST … Because you win on that one, babe!”
During her interview on Nightline on Wednesday, Jamie-Lynn explained why she included details of the incident in her memoir, Things I Should have Said.
“First off, I think that experiencing my own panic attacks and how sometimes we can feel in those moments is important, but also it’s important to remember I was a kid in that moment,” she replied.
“I was scared. That was a moment I had. I also was fearful to really say anything because I didn’t want to upset anybody, but I also was so upset that she didn’t feel safe.”
Speaking to Good Morning America earlier in the week, Jamie-Lynn had also described her sister’s behaviour over the years as “erratic, paranoid and spiralling”.
A furious Britney responded with her own statement shortly afterwards, pointing out that her younger sister was “never around much” during the time leading up to and during the early days of her conservatorship.
The Toxic singer added: “My family ruined my dreams 100 billion per cent and try to make me look like the crazy one … My family loves to pull me down and hurt me always so I am disgusted with them!”
Britney first called out her family amid her fight for freedom in a June 2021 court hearing.
The Piece of Me singer testified at the time that her family “should be in jail” for benefiting from her “abusive” conservatorship, which the New York Times estimated generated at least $6 million for her father, Jamie Spears, during his time serving as her conservator.
She also told the court, “I really couldn’t even take up for myself. I couldn’t even have a conversation with my mum or dad … I was scared.”
Since then, Britney has made a few jabs at Jamie Lynn on social media, calling her a “mean a***” and slamming her 2017 tribute at the Radio Disney Music Awards.
