The Black Eyed Peas singer butted heads with Piers Morgan on TV when the host attacked Gal Gadot’s recent viral clip.

Will.i.am branded Piers Morgan “super judgmental” as they awkwardly clashed on TV over the celebrity collaboration of John Lennon’s hit song, Imagine.

The rapper, 45, did not take part in the divisive video that was released last week, but jumped to the defence of his fellow stars after they filmed the track to cheer up fans during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, The Sun reports.

The Voice UK judge was on Good Morning Britain to discuss his own new song which is a collaboration with Bono and Jennifer Hudson, but Morgan couldn’t resist making a dig at Gal Gadot and her celebrity pals.

The GMB host said: “There was a group song, Imagine, which was probably one of the worst ensembles I’ve ever had to endure.

“You have ridden to the rescue with a song that is actually listenable to, pleasing, uplifting and free.”

After describing the process behind creating his own song, #Sing4Life, will.i.am hit out: “Something we cannot do when people are trying to uplift everyone’s spirit is be judging.

“The folks that did the rendition of Imagine, they were trying to do the best thing they can to lift everyone’s spirit.”

Morgan replied: “I would take slight issue as some of it smacks a little of mindless virtue-signalling.

“It does grate on me; you’re just being generous – it’s jarring.

“People are suffering around the world and they want to get the sense of rich, famous people doing stuff purely for other people’s benefit.

“The Imagine thing looks like it was about them.”

But will refused to back down, insisting: “Right now is not the time to be super critical and judgmental.

“We are supposed to entertain, we are supposed to live everyone’s spirits – and I applaud their efforts.”

A-listers including Natalie Portman and Cara Delevingne were slammed last week for “not helping” when they came together to sing a rendition of John Lennon’s Imagine.

Gal Gadot, 34, shared the video amid the global coronavirus pandemic which has forced many people to self-isolate at home.

Viewers were horrified by the clip and mercilessly mocked the celebs online as they urged them to donate money to help the cause instead.

A group of British comics also took to Twitter to make fun of them, releasing their own expletive-ridden rendition.

This is not the first time Morgan has lashed out at celebrities during the current health crisis, previously slamming “attention seeking” Sam Smith on Twitter.

After the singer shared a photo pretending to cry as they discussed their “quarantine breakdown”, Piers seethed: “FFS. I can’t take any more of this celebrity attention-seeking bulls**t.

“Get a grip, the lot of you.”
