WARNING: NUDITY
THERE’S nothing quite like a wardrobe malfunction on live television.
The shock, the horror, the “did anyone just see that?!” reaction as you sit on your couch at home.
Well, if you tuned into Sunday night’s The Voice finale on Channel 9, you probably weren’t expecting a full frontal nipple slip by one of the contestants.
Tash Lockhart, one of this year’s four finalists, was left completely unaware when her left breast was on display after her performance of the Crowded House classic Don’t Dream it’s Over.
Wearing a yellow gown and guitar slung over one shoulder, the young Queenslander was focused on her post-performance interview with host Sonia Kruger and coach Ronan Keating when the embarrassing wardrobe malfunction happened — LIVE ON AIR.
“To be honest, I felt a slight breeze when I reached out to touch Ronan… I gave him a hug, then I kind of forgot about it,” Lockhart told The Kyle and Jackie O Show this morning.
Turns out it takes a lot more than a flash of flesh to embarrass the star.
“At the end of the show, people ran up to me and told me that it happened and I just cracked up laughing,” she said.
“It’s an accident, this stuff happens. I think it’s funny.”
Besides, it certainly hasn’t hurt her popularity.
“I’ve gone up 12,000 Instagram followers since that nip slip.”
While Lockhart, Keating and Kruger remained unaware and engaged in post-performance banter — the Twittersphere went into meltdown.
“Gotta love live TV,” one user posted.
“Tash will be the only one remembered from this season but only because of the nipple slip,” wrote Sunny Mars on Twitter.
