Jimmy Kimmel has the receipts.
Following Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs‘ recent indictment on racketeering and trafficking charges, Kimmel somehow unearthed a clip from Celebrity Apprentice Season 5 that shows Donald Trump defending the rapper and mogul.
In the clip, former Diddy employee Aubrey O’Day is trying to pitch herself to Trump, claiming her experience working with Diddy made her into a perfectionist.
“I’m a very strict and focused businesswoman because working for Diddy six years trained me to have to be perfect,” she told Trump, who replied, “I love Diddy. You know he’s a good friend of mine, he’s a good guy. Is he a good guy?”
O’Day, who later became a vocal critic of Diddy after she was fired from his R&B girl group Danity Kane in 2008, seemed hesitant to respond in the clip. “I don’t want to answer that question,” she replied.
“Oh, well I think he’s a good guy. I’m gonna stand up for him,” Trump responded.
The clip drew laughs from the audience as Kimmel noted, “Well, to be fair he also thinks Kim Jong Un is a good guy, so only the best, people.”
Diddy was arrested Monday (Sept. 16) and is facing a federal indictment on racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution.
The damning court documents reveal the feds found over a thousand bottles of baby oil and lubricant, a point Kimmel couldn’t help but poke fun at.
“Lubricant?! They won’t be able to keep him behind bars, he’s going to slip right out,” he joked.
O’Day, however, praised the news of Diddy’s arrest in a post on X. “The purpose of Justice is to provide an ending and allow us the space to create a new chapter. Women never get this. I feel validated. Today is a win for women all over the world, not just me. Things are finally changing,” she wrote.
If convicted, he faces a minimum of 15 years to life in prison.
Another person praising Diddy’s arrest in rapper 50 Cent, who even sold a tell-all doc about Diddy’s crimes to Netflix. 50 Cent shared a photo of himself and Drew Barrymore on X with the caption, “Here I am keeping good company with @DrewBarrymoreTV and I don’t have 1,000 bottles of lube at the house.”
Jimmy Kimmel Live airs on weeknights at 11:35/10:35c on ABC.
