Kim Kardashian stuns in sheer lace dress for birthday celebrations

Kim Kardashian has celebrated her 42nd birthday in style, making a showstopping entrance in a sheer lace gown which showed off her lingerie.

The reality TV star and fashion mogul held an intimate birthday dinner in Calabasas, California, on Friday, with family members including Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian, Kylie and Kendall Jenner, Travis Barker and Kris Jenner.

Kim looked stunning in a floor-length white lace dress by Dolce and Gabbana, with black undergarments and her long platinum blonde hair styled in loose waves.

She accessorised with white strappy stiletto heels, a silver cross necklace, and a tiny shimmering purse.

The famous family and their friends shared glimpses of the luxurious dinner spread, which featured tables adorned with white tablecloths and plenty of candles.

Kim herself posted details of the menu on her Instagram Story, which included sushi, lobster tacos, baby artichoke salad and mochi ice cream.

In another Story, she shared a snippet of her mum’s birthday tribute, in which the Kardashian matriarch described her daughter as “a rock star”.

“You are somebody that I am in awe of every single day,” Kris could be heard saying.

“The way that you handle every single thing in life. You handle all of us. You handle your kids. You handle your life. You handle everything that comes your way.”
 

Despite the extravagant start to her birthday weekend, the rest of Kim’s celebrations went pear-shaped after the weather wreaked havoc on her planned Las Vegas trip.

The star was supposed to spend Saturday night partying with friends at high-end Italian restaurant Carbone before attending an Usher concert as part of his Park MGM residency.

Kim was dressed to the nines for the outing, in a silver plunging bikini top and matching pants.

But the group ended up having to settle for a late night trip to In-N-Out Burger instead – after their pilot (yes, they were travelling on Kylie Jenner’s luxury private jet) was told they couldn’t land safely due to dangerous conditions, including wind gusts of more than 90km/hour.
 

“The plane couldn’t land due to the wind so looks like our Carbone party and @usher concert isn’t happening and we are heading back home,” Kim wrote in an Instagram Story.

“We stopped at In-N-Out because we couldn’t make it to Carbone in Vegas,” Kim said.

She later updated her followers on their evening, explaining that she’d been forced to “cover up with a boa” to duck into an In-N-Out Burger store to pick up dinner after their Italian meal got thwarted.

After enjoying their fast food Kim shared that they got back on “the party bus to nowhere.”
