The Simpsons is known for predicting some of the world’s biggest future events, and now it’s gone and done it yet again.
The Simpsons has done it yet again.
The series has proved itself to be the Nostradamus of network television over the years, accurately predicting numerous political and cultural events.
And now, the beloved cartoon sitcom seems to have predicted a map of the US Election results 24 years ago.
In a clip from a 2000 episode of the show, a TV presenter is seen standing in front of a map of the United States.
The picture shows which states had been declared in favour of Lisa Simpson, and which have had been won by her running mate, an unnamed man.
The map was almost identical to the one showing what states had been declared by the Democrats and Republicans.
“WTF SIMPSONS ARE FROM THE FUTURE THEY GOT LITERALLY THE EXACT MAP FROM THIS ELECTION,” wrote a fan who shared the picture on Twitter.
“The Simpsons map and the actual map being the same is so insane to me,”
commented one user.
However, sometimes the show gets things wrong. After some predicted that Lisa was foreshadowing Harris’ presidency, the latest results appear to prove that Trump will in fact be in the White House.
A tweet of Lisa and Kamala side by side has since gone viral on Twitter, with the caption: “This is the first time The Simpsons was wrong”.
It previously emerged that Trump’s US presidency was sensationally predicted in an episode of The Simpsons years before it eventuated in 2016.
And then earlier this year, a confronting new photo appearing to be from a past Simpsons episode shows Trump lying idle in a coffin with ‘R.I.P. Donald Trump, 1946 – 2024’ written on the casket, which has exploded in the wake of the attempted assassination on the Republican candidate at a rally in Pennsylvania July 13.
The picture when viral on Twitter before it was eventually revealed to be a fake.
Longtime executive producer and showrunner Matt Selman condemned the spread of the image, revealing it was “doctored”.
“The image of Donald Trump in a coffin never appeared on The Simpsons. It is doctored,” Selman said in a statement.
Selman, who has won six Emmys for his work on the series, later told TMZ: “Anyone who thinks The Simpsons would include such horrifying content on a family TV show doesn’t really watch the show or have any understanding of The Simpsons at all.”
Last year, fans also claimed the show may have predicted the disappearance of the OceanGate submersible that was exploring the ruins of the Titanic.
