Geri Halliwell has broken her silence after her Spice Girl bandmate, Mel B, claimed on TV that they had slept together in the past.

Geri Horner (née Halliwell) has hit back at claims that she enjoyed a year-long relationship with Mel B.

The 46-year-old star has broken her silence after her Spice Girls’ bandmate revealed that they enjoyed a lesbian romp in the ‘90s, The Sun reports.

Last night, a bombshell report from the Daily Mail claimed the pair had been lovers for a year — and it was also said that the Spice Girls’ reunion tour was in jeopardy as Geri is fuming with 43-year-old Mel.

However, Geri has now reassured fans that the tour will go ahead as planned — although she confessed that the various sex reports have been “very hurtful”.

The singer’s rep said in a statement: “It has been very disappointing to read about all these rumours again, especially on Mother’s Day of all days.

“Geri is really grateful for your support and loyalty for so many years. She loves the Spice Girls: Emma, Melanie, Melanie and Victoria.

“She would like you to know that what has been reported recently is simply not true and has been very hurtful to her family.

“Moving forward, Geri can’t wait to see the girls and all the fans on the tour, have an amazing time with everyone, and make some new memories.

“She wishes you a Happy Mother’s Day.”

Mel caused shockwaves earlier this week when she dropped the sex bombshell while filming for Piers Morgan’s Life Stories.

The host asked the singer: “You were coming here to be brutally honest — did or didn’t you sleep with Geri? Did you sleep with her?”

Swerving the question, Mel replied: “Yeah. We all slept in a bed together, but not like that, all of us.”

The host persevered, asking: “Did you sleep with Geri like that?”

Mel smiled and eventually nodded.

The Spice Girl then exclaimed: “She’s going to hate me for this because she’s all posh in her country house with her husband.”

Mel was quick to call Geri as soon as she finished filming for the show to confess what she had told Morgan, with the star later claiming that they had spoken “at length” following her revelation.

Sources previously said that Geri was denying the story, but she did not officially comment until last night’s report.

An insider had told the Mail On Sunday that Mel and Geri didn’t just enjoy a one-off romp, but a full-on relationship.

They claimed: “It was in the very early days of the Spice Girls and their relationship lasted far longer than one night — it was at least 12 months.

“They deeply bought into the whole Girl Power phenomenon — they wanted to lead it.

“They felt what better way was there to do that than for girls to enjoy one another?”

Mel and Geri, who in 1994 were aged 18 and 21 during the formation of the band, shared a “lust at first sight”, the friend claimed.

And the “absolutely inseparable” pair regularly slept in the same bed at a house where they had been moved by music bosses, it was claimed.

The pal added: “They were together in every sense of the word”.
