WHO said it’s hard to find an apartment in New York City?*

Pakistani man Rehan Munir experienced “quite the ride” when he posted online he was looking for a furnished room to rent in Manhattan while doing a rotation at a New York hospital.

“Hello everyone!

“I’m Rehan and I’m looking to rent a furnished room on the Upper East Side, Upper West Side or Midtown Manhattan. I’m planning to move in around July 20th and stay till August 30th. My price range is about $800, with some flexibility,” he wrote.

“I’m professional, friendly and easy to live with. Most of all, cleanliness is of utmost priority to me. Please let me know if you have any leads.”

Then he signed off with a couple of pictures, and that’s when the chaos began.

“You can move in with me,” Liz Shirshikova wrote, while Nohely Haro asked: “Can I shadow you?”

Drew Reidenbach said “Marry me?”. Nadlie Chino said “He’s soooo HOT !!! Damn I wish I had a room to rent to him. lol”

Others said he could “stay in my heart for free” or asked him to “cuddle” and how flexible he was.

The comments were picked up by others who criticised them for jumping on a man who was simply looking for a place to stay.

“Damn, y’all, you would be going crazy right now if this was a bunch of men talking this way about an attractive woman. Dude just wants an apartment,” Rich Gilberto said.

“When did this become a dating app? I feel like half of y’all saw his photo and started swiping right based on habit,” Linwood Young said.

The post has since got more than 500 likes and Munir told Huffington Post he had not expected such a response.

“It was pretty overwhelming,” he said. “I wrote it and the next day I wake up and I see my post has been inundated with messages and it’s reached a number of blogs locally and internationally. I found it hilarious! The internet is really an unpredictable place.”

As for whether he is single, the young doctor said he is, “but trying to focus on my career at the moment.”
