7 year oldThere were reports of a secret engagement between Nicole Kidman and Lenny Kravitz 14 years ago, now finally, the actress has confirmed she was set to marry the American musician.
The Aussie actress let slip in a recent interview that she was engaged to the singer after meeting him in 2003.
Kidman, who is married to local musician Keith Urban, divulged the news when asked what it was like working with her former lovers daughter Zoe Kravits, in her latest series Big Little Lies.
“Well, I knew Zoe because I was engaged to her father. It’s all in the family! I love Lenny; he’s a great guy,” she told The Edit.
It’s the first time Kidman has addressed the engagement rumours, which began after the pair briefly dated between 2003 and 2004.
The couple met after she rented a New York loft he owned and he later penned a song titled Lady — reportedly about the award winning actress.
During the interview, Kidman also opened about the toll Big Little Lies, which is based on the best selling novel by Australian author Liane Moriarty, took on her body and mind.
“I was quite traumatised after [filming] because we would shoot [the violent scenes] repeatedly,” Kidman told The Edit.
“I was emotionally and physically traumatised. I’d come back and I’d need Keith to hold me, just to feel soothed. I think it worked on my psyche in a way that I didn’t quite realise.”The usually demure Kidman, who plays Celeste in the series, went so far as to throw a rock through her door after locking herself out.
“I couldn’t sleep and the next morning I got up and went for a run to try and get some of [Celeste’s] energy out,” she said.
“I came back and I’d left my key, I couldn’t get in the door. It’s a glass door, so I got a rock and I threw the rock through the door. I’d never done anything like that. And then I realised, ‘Oh my gosh, that’s how much I’m holding all this in, the anger, the pain.’”
