‘Mr Lover!’ Kendall Jenner’s bizarre fashion tribute to Shaggy

SUPERMODEL Kendall Jenner has sported a bizarre tribute to Shaggy, wearing a vintage tour T-shirt featuring the rapper’s face on it.

She teamed the vintage black top — printed with the words “Mr Lover” — with a pair of green “wind pants”, as American Vogue called them, and hoop earrings for a date with her Australian NBA star boyfriend Ben Simmons, 22.

The style bible described Jenner’s choice of Shaggy tee as “curious”, “retro” and “larger-than-life”. “Mr Lover” is, of course, a song from Shaggy’s 1995 album, Boombastic.

Jenner sported the mismatched outfit — including the Shaggy tee, which was apparently from online vintage store For All To Envy — to dinner with her Melbourne-raised Philadelphia-based boyfriend, Simmons.

The couple hit hot-spots Craig’s and The Nice Guy in West Hollywood.

Over the past few months, Jenner and Simmons — who have not publicly confirmed their relationship — have been seen everywhere from DUMBO House in Brooklyn to upscale bars Poppy and Peppermint Club in Los Angeles, even shopping for groceries together at Erewhon, an expensive health supermarket.

At the time, a source said the on-again, off-again couple seemed to be acting “coy” and “exchanging glances, [but were] by no means all over each other”, according to Page Six.

Last month, a source told E! that Jenner and Simmons were “hanging out” and “keeping things casual”.

Jenner’s odd outfit choice came after the Victoria’s Secret model and her sister Kylie were last year criticised over releasing a line of T-shirts with rappers’ images on them.

Kendall and Kylie copped it on social media after they sold a line of vintage tees, featuring their faces superimposed on top of rap and rock stars — not including Shaggy.

The T-shirts, released under their Kendall + Kylie brand, featured images of the famous duo on top of prints of late rappers Tupac and Biggie, as well as bands including Metallica, The Doors and Kiss.

One design — priced at $US125 (about $A163) — featured a screengrab of Kyle’s Instagram post (of her wearing in a bikini and posing in a pool) printed over Metallica’s signature logo.

The line also included vintage Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd tees with two huge “K” letters plastered over it.

The tees, which were eventually pulled from sale, were labelled “disrespectful, disgusting and exploitation at its worst”.
