Oscars 2025 red carpet: All the glitz and glam from the star-studded ceremony

Before the champagne bottles are popped and the gold statues given out, stars each had their time to shine on the red carpet as who’s who of Tinseltown gathered for the 97th annual Academy Awards.

The ceremony is hosted by Conan O’Brien, broadcasting locally on Seven and 7plus from midday today – and we’ll be live blogging all the highlights. You can also keep track of all the winners as they’re announced here. 

But first, the red carpet. A main event in itself, the stars are known to bring their fashion A-game.

 

 

Demi Moore was a firm standout once the red carpet kicked off. 

Ready for her big moment, the actress is tipped to win Best Actress for her role in The Substance andlooked every inch the movie star in her dazzling silver gown. 

 

Here are the other standout looks from the 2025 Oscars red carpet:

Miley Cyrus set off an otherwise plain dress with drop earrings and lace gloves. But it was her bleached eyebrows that, er, raised eyebrows. 

 

 

Selena Gomez was also shining from head to toe in her stunning gown. 

 

 

Nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her turn as Glinda in Wicked, the actress and singer looked as lovely as her portrayal of Glinda in the movie adaptation.

 

 

Cynthia Erivo was the Ying to Grande’s Yang in an almost-black velvet gown. But upon closer inspection, the dress is actually dark green. Fitting, as she does play green witch Elphaba in Wicked.

 

 

Wicked star Marissa Bode looked like a delightful ruby slipper in her glitzy red gown.

 

Among the first to arrive is triple-threat actress, dancer, singer Julianne Hough, who looked stunning in a nude-coloured, sheer backless dress.

The Dancing With The Stars pro channelled old Hollywood with red lips and natural make-up, which she framed with Marilyn Monroe-like hair.

 

Demi Moore’s The Substance co-star Margaret Qualley has jewels cascading from her neck down to her exposed back. 

 

 

 

Best Actress nominee Mikey Madison wowed in pink and black while all bowed up. 

 

 

Emma Stone rocked a pixie cut and let her dress do the talking. 

 

 

Halle Berry dazzled in a silver dress adorned with mirrored panels. 

 

 

Laura Dern and Isabella Rossellini were an odd pairing when they walked the red carpet together.

 

 

 

Gal Gadot was red-hot in this gown … that had pockets! 

 

 

Zoe Saldana, who is nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Emilia Perez, wore a tiered maroon gown with a netted mesh bodice. 

 

 

The Queen has arrived. Queen Latifah was in full bloom with this showstopping dress. 

 

Actress, and Tom Cruise’s rumoured new girlfriend, Ana de Armas looked sultry in a slinky satin gown. 

 

 

Snow White star Rachel Zegler was breathtaking in white. 

 

Lily-Rose Depp wore a sexy and lacy black dress. 

 

 

Actor Jeff Goldblum was hard to miss in lilac and florals. 

 

 

Aussie actor Guy Pearce looked suave in his tux as he prepares to celebrate his Best Actor in a Supporting Role nomination. 

The star also used his moment to support important issues, wearing a “Free Palestine” pin to the event. 

 

Fellow Aussie Jacki Weaver – who voices a character in Memoir of a Snail, which is up for Best Animated Feature Film – looked professional and polished in a white suit. 

 

Also in white was The Brutalist star Raffey Cassidy, who looked fierce in a one-shoulder gown. 

 

 

Timothée Chalamet was far form a complete unknown in this bright get-up. 

 

Whoopi Goldberg looked futuristic in this metallic gown.

 

Mindy Kaling was halter-neck perfection in this creation.

 

Miles Teller and wife Keleigh Sperry were couple goals as they posed for photographers.

 

Best Actor nominee Adrien Brody and his girlfriend, fashion designer Georgina Chapman, were also loved-up on the red carpet. 

 

 

Elle Fanning added a nice touch to her lacy dress with a black bow.

 

Monica Barbaro was equal parts sexy and demure in a pink ballgown. 

 

Blackpink star Lalisa Manoban was also in black and white, but went androgynous rather than ladylike. 

 

 

From one singing sensation to another, H. E. R his all the right notes with her gold gown. 

 

Connie Nielsen was pretty in pink and dripping in diamonds.

 

English actress and internet personality Yasmin Finney had feathers sprouting from her black dress. 

 

 

Popular beauty influencer Bretman Rock was just as edgy in pleat and metallic. 

 

 

There were no metals or feathers for Lupita Nyong’o, who kept it simple and clean. 

 

 

Kelly Ripa set off her tan with this striking orange dress. 

 

 

Grammy winner Brandi Carlile and wife Catherine Carlile were all about those bows. 

 

 

Actress Rachel Sennott added colour to the red carpet in this rhinestone-encrusted pink gown. 

 

 

Comedian Amelia Dimoldenberg was pretty in pale blue.

 

 

US TV personalities Kit Hoover and Zuri Hall were ready for their close-ups in their respective sage green and ruby red gowns.

 

 

Actor Jerry O’Connell was among the first male stars to arrive, looking dapper in a sliver blazer over an all-black ensemble.

 

Past Oscar winner Marlee Martin is another early arrival.

 

 

 

Today’s ceremony promises to be a tight race in many with musical thriller Emilia Pérezleading the way.

The Netflix film has scored a whopping 13 nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Supporting Actress for Zoe Saldana and Best Actress for Karla Sofía Gascón.

The smash-hit musical adaptation of Wickedscored 10 nods each, with its stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo shutting down the red carpet with their arrival.
