The fallout continues for Matt Lauer.

The disgraced former "Today" show host's face has been scrubbed from world-renowned steakhouse The Palm, Page Six reported on Monday. The establishment, which has two dozen locations around the country, is a favorite jaunt for many A-list names, and it's famous for the numerous celebrity portraits lining its walls.

According to the outlet, The Palm quietly erased Lauer's caricature a month ago, which is nearly three months after he was fired from the "Today" show following a complaint of inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace. Portraits of former colleagues Kathiee Lee Gifford and his replacement co-anchor Hoda Kotb remain on the walls at the restaurant chain.

The news comes amid reports that Lauer is getting a bit restless and "lonely" while holing up in his Hamptons home as estranged wife Annette Roque and their kids spend more and more time in the Netherlands.

"He hasn't shown his face at his Manhattan apartment lately," a source told Entertainment Tonight. "The Hamptons has been a good place for him to hide, but he isn't sure he will stay. Matt definitely regrets his behavior. He lost not only his family, but his career and many of his closest friends."

Lauer, who also reportedly slashed the price on his Hamptons home hoping to get it sold more quickly, may be eyeing a comeback sometime in the future -- despite skepticism from friends.

"Matt seems to be under the impression that if he waits this news cycle out, this will go away and he can have a comeback," the source said. "He has seen a lot of people come back and hopes he will too. For right now, his friends feel that isn't realistic. His team has discussed a public apology, but agreed disappearing right now seems to be for the best."

With his divorce all but finalized, Lauer continues to lose allies as former friends and colleagues quietly steer clear of the controversial figure -- that is, all but one. According to the ET source, Bryant Gumbel "has really stuck by him and seen him through this" scandal.

"They have always been close and Matt has needed him during this time," the source said.
