Leslie Jones’ Website Hacked: Nude Photos, Personal Info Released

Leslie Jones is the latest celebrity to fall victim to hackers, with the vandalization of her personal website on Wednesday morning.

The hacker(s) posted personal photos from the “Ghostbusters” star’s iCloud account, including several nude shots as well as pictures of her passport and drivers license. Jones’ phone number and the password to her Twitter account were also displayed.

A Twitter exchange between Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey and the WikiLeaks account led the top of the page in which Dorsey tweeted that users are only banned for targeted harassment. WikiLeaks responded with a link to one of Jones’ tweets in which she encouraged her followers to go after another harassing user.

The site, which has already been taken offline, also featured YouTube video of the gorilla Harambe, who was killed in an Ohio zoo earlier this year. Jones was the victim of repeated racist harassment online leading up to the release of “Ghostbusters,” with some Twitter users comparing her to Harambe.

She fought back against the harassment in July, calling out certain commenters for being both racist and sexist for their comments about the all-female reboot of the film.

“What will you tell your daughter when she wants to dress like a [Ghostbuster] for Halloween,” Jones asked. “You gonna tell them they can’t be one? I liked to see that.”

Jones continued: “Are you gonna tell her the bullshit you tweeting to me. The sexist most racist comments ever. Are you gonna show that? It’s very sick and sad.”

Representatives for Jones did not immediately return TheWrap’s request for comment. “Ghostbusters” studio Sony declined to comment on the hack.

Jones is a celebrated comedian with a lengthy background in stand-up. She has been a cast member on “Saturday Night Live” since 2013. In addition to “Ghostbusters,” she also recently appeared in the Amy Schumer blockbuster “Trainwreck.”

She also got to serve as a special correspondent for NBC at the 2016 Rio Olympics after tweeting non-stop about the Summer Games.

Sadly, this is not the first time a female celebrity’s privacy has been violated in this way. In 2014, actresses like Jennifer Lawrence, Kaley Cuoco and Kate Upton were the victims of a similar hack that resulted in the release of explicit photos online.
