5 year oldJust one day after the late rapper’s “celebration of life” memorial service, his girlfriend inked Hussle’s face on her arm.
“Real love never dies. When you see me you will always see him,” she captioned a photo of a new tattoo, a large portrait of his face with the words “God will rise” underneath — the same phrase the rapper had tattooed next to his right eye.
The actress, 34, spoke at the rapper’s funeral at LA’s Staples Center, telling the 21,000 attendees that he was the “love of my life.”
She also read aloud a text message she wrote to her late partner. “I want you to know I feel real joy in my heart when I’m around you. I feel safe around you. Protected. Like a shield over me when you’re around, I am totally myself when I’m with you,” London wrote. “You’ve made me into more of a woman. You’ve given me an opportunity to really love a man.”
London isn’t the only one remembering Hussle with permanent ink: NBA player JR Smith and rapper The Game also had his face inked onto their bodies recently.
Barack Obama, Drake and Kanye West have all spoken out about Hussle’s passing.
After the fatal shooting, London broke her silence on Instagram. “I am completely lost, I’ve lost my best friend, My sanctuary, My protector, My soul….,” she wrote. “I’m lost without you, We are lost without you babe, I have no words.” The two were together for six years and share a 2-year-old son, Kross. Hussle also leaves behind a daughter, Emani Asghedom, from a previous relationship. London has another son, 9-year-old Cameron Carter, with rapper Lil Wayne.
Hussle, whose real name was Ermias Asghedom, was gunned down last month outside his clothing store in the Hyde Park neighborhood of his native Los Angeles. The suspect, Eric Holder, has been charged with one count of murder, two counts of attempted murder and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon.
