8 year oldNEW details have emerged from inside the luxury Paris apartment where Kim Kardashian West was bound and robbed of $14 million worth of jewellery.
A source close to the reality star told People she managed to work her way free of plastic ties around her wrists.
“They put plastic ties around her wrists but she managed to squeeze her hands out of the wrist ties by wriggling her hands,” the source said.
“She was hysterical but not screaming as she knew she had to keep quiet to survive.”
“The reports of her fear of being raped are real. She really did think she was going to be raped. She had a gun to her head the whole time.”
On Tuesday French police said they were watching surveillance footage to identify the armed men who work fake police outfits.
Paris prosecutors also declined to answer on whether the robbers had received help from inside her entourage.
Celebrity news website TMZ said the robbery “reeks of an inside job” and the “Kardashian family don’t believe it was a coincidence that Kim was bodyguard-less at the time the robbers showed up ... they think the robbers were tipped off it was the right time to strike.”
Paris police spokesman Johanna Primevert told the Associated Press the incident is not typical of what happens in Paris.
“This is the result of people who obviously posed as policemen and who assaulted Ms Kardashian in a private hotel in her room by threat of a weapon.
“This kind of incident is extremely rare in Paris. This is a star who is famous worldwide. Do not confuse what happened to Ms Kardashian and probably was the result of an organised team who had planned their action with the assault of a tourist in front of Notre Dame (cathedral) or another tourist spot in Paris.”
“Clearly when you have a star like Kim Kardashian who has, I think, more than 48 million followers on Twitter ... I think this could have happened abroad just as easily as in Paris.
“It was really the celebrity who was targeted, with possessions that had been seen and noticed via social media, and it was these goods that the attackers targeted.”
Earlier, the 35-year-old’s bodyguard Pascal Duvier vowed to track down the five armed gunmen who held the reality star at gunpoint and bound her in a hotel room, saying “you messed with the wrong one”.
“The events that occurred in Paris was one of the most sickening things I have seen or heard,” the security mogul said.
“We have tips and leads and we will find you. That I promise you ... you messed with the wrong one.”
Never usually more than a few feet from the reality star, Duvier was out with sisters Kourtney and Kendall at a Paris nightclub when the terrifying robbery took place.
Kardashian West’s friend Simone Harouche who was also in the apartment jumped from her bed and locked herself in the bathroom.
The star of Keeping up with the Kardashians was woken with a gun to her temple, bound and placed in the bathtub around 2.30am while five armed men dressed as police robbed her of $14 million worth of jewellery.
Her engagement ring containing a huge emerald-cut diamond is believed to have been taken and will most likely be “broken up” by thieves in order to avoid being recognised, a former police detective said.
Fans of the celebrity immediately took to social media questioning where the bodyguard was at the time. Earlier in the week he had quickly pounced on aUkrainian prankster who had attempted to kiss her on the bum in public.
A source told Us Weekly Kardashian West does not blame Pascal for the attack.
“She felt completely safe at the Paris apartment and doesn’t believe this is his fault in any way,” they said.
Meanwhile fans have also rounded on Caitlyn Jenner for posting a picture with Kylie at a car show on Sunday, saying she “had so much fun” while members of the family were silent on social media amid the drama unfolding.
“How is it that everyone else in your “family” is respectful enough not to post trivial sh*t hours after Kim is bound and gagged at gunpoint but you post pictures of yourself with a car? Super classy,” Jessie Merriam wrote on Instagram.
