5 year oldKim Kardashian has earned a $US2.7 million ($A3.3 million) payout for doing absolutely nothing.
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 38, was awarded the seven-figure amount in damages after suing online fashion chain Missguided for copying her clothes — and using her likeness on social media.
She was also granted $US60,000 in legal fees, TMZ reports.
Missguided failed to respond to the lawsuit and Kardashian won in a default ruling.
Kardashian sued Missguided in February claiming the online fast fashion site had used her image to sell “knock-off dresses”.
“Missguided has repeatedly used Kardashian’s name and likeness without permission on its social media platforms to promote the sale of its clothing,” the judge said in the ruling, according to the gossip site.
The resolution came days after she backtracked over her ‘Kimono’ brand name scandal.
Kardashian was accused of “cultural appropriation” after last week announcing the name of her new line of shapewear was Kimono.
She tried to trademark the word “kimono” — which is a sacred Japanese cultural garment — as the name of her new lingerie brand, using it as a pun on her first name Kim — and the internet had a lot to say about it.
Twitter blew up with people accusing the reality star of being “arrogant” and calling the decision “vile”.
Influential fashion watchdog Diet Prada revealed that the Kardashian’s trademark application noted that the company — which goes by the full name, Kimono Intimates — would sell “lingerie, shapewear … stockings, breast shapers, nipple cover pasties, bra inserts”, as well other products, including actual kimonos.
On Monday, Kardashian announced she would be renaming the brand in the wake of the backlash.
“My brands and products are built with inclusivity and diversity at their core, and after careful thought and consideration, I will be launching my Solutionwear brand under a new name,” Kardashian said.
“When I announced the name of my shapewear line, I did so with the best intentions in mind,” she added in the statement.
She has not revealed the new brand name.
