3 year oldNew reported details about Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez's breakup are coming to light.
People magazine released a story on Wednesday, April 21, outlining the rumored reasons the couple decided to end things, and it's very sad.
Per the outlet, Lopez ultimately decided to split from Rodriguez because she couldn't fully “trust” him. “She has been pretty miserable,” a source told People. “And didn't think it was in her best interests to stay with Alex.”
This source added that Lopez “insisted” on the breakup: “There are too many issues that are unresolved.”
Another insider told People that the COVID-19 lockdown only augmented the couple's issues. “They both liked spending more time together as a family, but it was difficult to keep that special spark when they saw each other every day,” this person said.
There were also rumors of infidelity on Rodriguez's end. To this, a “music source” said to People, “Whether or not he has cheated doesn't matter. She won't tolerate the fear of it in the air between them.”
So where do Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez go from here? It's unclear, but a “Miami source” said to People, “They will try to be friends, and there is respect there. But they are definitely going their separate ways.”
“We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so,” the former couple, who got together in 2017 and were engaged by 2019, said in a joint statement to Today on Thursday, April 15. “We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and one another’s children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support.”
