Harry reportedly feels guilty for leaving the royal family amid the new coronavirus pandemic.

Right now, many of us are facing the scary, lonely situation of being far from our loved ones, and knowing that traveling to see them is out of the question. Prince Harry, who’s currently in Los Angeles with Meghan Markle and baby Archie, is facing that same situation, thousands of miles from the royal family — including his father Prince Charles, who’s recently tested positive for coronavirus. Harry reportedly feels guilty for leaving the royal family amid the new coronavirus pandemic, and sources say this crisis has given him a new perspective on his recent move.

Charles tested positive for coronavirus in late March, and a source told Us Weekly that Harry’s been struggling ever since. “Despite their ups and downs, hearing that his dad is sick with a potentially life-threatening illness is a huge wake-up call,” the source claimed. “And he’s overwhelmed with feelings of guilt for not being closer to home while this is all going on.”

While Charles is now out of self-isolation and his condition has greatly improved, those early days were paralyzing for Harry: “He confessed to feeling beyond helpless, being over 5,000 miles away in L.A. Charles tried to calm Harry down by saying he’s OK and that he’s only suffering from mild symptoms, which slightly helped put his mind at ease but he’s still worried. Harry’s admitted it’s hit home that Charles and the Queen aren’t going to be around forever.”

Anyone of us would be feeling shaky with our 71-year-old dad an ocean away, and it’s no wonder that Harry’s felt helpless during this time. We’re all doing the best we can to be there for each other (without actually being there for each other), and we’ve all felt the sting of wishing we’d had the foresight to gather all our loved ones close before this hit.

“Harry tries to keep in regular contact with the Queen and Charles, but due to the 8-hour time difference calls are few and far between,” the source explained. “The royals are desperately trying to rally together amid the pandemic.”

Rallying together is what we need, and we hope that Harry finds a way to feel close to his family from far away. If he’s still reconsidering he and Meghan’s move when all this is over, well — we’re curious to hear how that conversation would go.
