This article is more than
4 year oldHe’s the Italian model known for his luscious long locks and striking good looks – and almost 40 years on, it’s safe to say not much has changed.
Fabio Lanzoni, one hailed as the sexiest man alive, captivated the world in the ’80s and ’90s when he left Italy as a teen to pursue a career in modelling in the US.
The chiselled-faced, long-haired hunk, who was born in Milan, went on to grace the cover of more than 400 romance novels.
He then shifted his attention to acting, appearing in film and TV shows such as The Exorcist III, Dude, Where’s My Car? and The Bold and The Beautiful.

After turning books into bestsellers with his hair and bare chest alone, Fabio then published a bunch of his own, historical romance novels with the help of a ghostwriter.
And while you may not have heard much from him in recent years, rest assured he’s been working away on a variety of projects that involve his signature feature – his hair, which is at age 61, is just as luscious as his glory days.
“I feel great, even more so now,” he told news.com.au.
He credits his youthfulness to two things – an active lifestyle and a wholesome diet that doesn’t involve any alcohol.
That’s right, Fabio doesn’t drink at all nor does he eat sweet things.
“I was 18 when I first tried wine and I didn’t like the experience. I was never into wine,” he said.
And if that shocks you, the former Italian model also isn’t a fan of pasta, cheese and gelato.
“So what the heck was I doing in Italy?” he laughed. “I felt like a fish out of water so I just left and it was the best decision I ever made in my life.”
Fabio has been living in LA for the past 32 years, and while he has continued to dabble in a few projects of late, it’s his most recent that he couldn’t wait to talk about – Aston James.
No, it’s not a car. This time his iconic locks have steered him into the direction of Australia where he has teamed up with two Aussie mates to help launch a hair care line.
One he says that embodies “everything he is about – class, style and sophistication”.
“I have so many people and companies wanting to to do hair campaigns with me and I am sceptical because a lot of these products are not natural and they mislead people,” Fabio explained.
However, when Aussie entrepreneurs Liam Robinson and Daniel Phillips pitched the idea to Fabio a few years back, he couldn’t say no.

“The end product was something so beautiful I couldn’t not get involved,” Fabio said.
“Being a perfectionist, this project was two years in the making. We wanted nothing but the best ingredients and extracts and the products had to look flawless.
“If I am to put my name on something, it has to be amazing and the boys’ product includes some very special extracts from Australia which are of the highest quality.
“It’s almost like Australia meets Italy with the best organic products from Australia, together with the designer Italian style.”
And yes, the name was inspired by the luxurious British sports car, Aston Martin,
“The first thing that popped into my mind was Aston Martin and James Bond, and together they are the perfect combination of classy and confident.”
The design is alluringly cool, dressed in jet black and would comfortably sit among a bevy of luxury items.

When it comes to his hair, Fabio takes a lot of pride in maintaining it.
In fact, the most common question he gets asked is: “How do you keep your hair looking so good?”
His answer?
“I use a lot of (Biotin) supplements which is very important for your hair,” he said.
“What your hair needs is quality protein and minerals. Remember, your cells can’t absorb vitamins with no minerals in your body. So, it’s the combination between protein, minerals and vitamins.”

He also washes it every other day saying, “it’s not good to wash your hair daily”.
And if you’re wondering how he also manages to maintain his chiselled chest aged 61, it’s by keeping extremely active.
“I got for a lot of walks, runs and hikes. I have been active my whole life and now that gyms are starting to slowly re-open here, I will go back to doing more weights,” he told news.com.au.
“This is the first time in my life I took three months off from training but sometimes you have to give your body a rest and my body feels so good and very strong now.
“In life you have to understand we have a spiritual side, mental side and physical side – I think it’s very healthy and important to keep all three young and balanced.”
As for his love life, Fabio has never been married, but he’s got his eyes set on finding himself a lovely Aussie lady.
“I can’t wait to come to Australia to find someone,” he told news.com.au.
“I love Australian women – they are beautiful and they are very intelligent and have a beautiful soul.
“In LA, it’s just ‘me, me, me’, but in Australia, every time I have come it’s, ‘What can I do for you’. The people are so nice.
“I would have come yesterday if I could.”
