8 year oldManhattan federal judge Jed Rakoff was close to throwing DMX, real name Earl Simmons, in jail before giving him home detention with electronic monitoring.
The judge said Simmons, 46, cannot go anywhere without his approval.
“Only if I agree to his release in advance can he even go outside to water the lawn,” the judge scolded.
Court officers have found cocaine in Simmons’ system four times since his July 13 arrest.
