Demi Lovato’s alleged drug dealer speaks about her overdose

BRANDON Johnson, the man accused of providing Demi Lovato with drugs prior to her overdose, claims she knew she was taking “dirty drugs” at the time.

A slurring Johnson, 31, alleged to TMZ in a video released that Lovato, 26, “a hundred per cent” knew what she was taking.

“I disclosed to her that (the pills) were not pharmaceutical … they’re much stronger,” he claimed. “She understood fully. It’s unfortunate what happened, but for (anyone) to think there was any misconception is absolutely ridiculous.”

However, Johnson himself claimed he wasn’t sure what they took, confessing, “I’m not sure what was mixed in, to tell you the truth.”

Sources previously alleged that Lovato and Johnson freebased oxycodone that may have been laced with fentanyl, the same powerful opioid that killed Prince.

Johnson confirmed prior reports that he came to her home at 4am after she texted him, adding that they watched true crime shows before getting high.

“When I was with her, she was fine the whole time,” he mumbled in the clip. “When I showed up she was a little drunk. Besides that, nothing out of the ordinary.”

“She fell asleep, it happens all the time,” he added. “We hang out, we do whatever we need to do and she ends up passing out. It was already like, 7.00, 8.00 (am) at the time. She passed out, and I leave as I normally do. She was sleeping. I put her under the covers, tucked her in — sleeping.”

Lovato’s assistant later found the singer unconscious in bed and feared she had died.

The assistant reportedly called 911, requesting that paramedics not use sirens on their way to the scene.

Emergency workers reportedly revived Lovato with Narcan, an emergency drug that reverses the effects of an opiate overdose.

The Tell Me You Love Me singer was released from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles two weeks later and currently remains in rehab.

“It’s definitely a wakeup call for her obviously, and for me it definitely opens my eyes to the dangers of these drugs,” Johnson said. “I hate to hurt anybody, I’m not trying to hurt my friend. She’s a really good friend of mine. I care for her a lot. I hope she comes out of this better than she went into it.”

A source close to Lovato vehemently denied that she ever had a romantic or sexual relationship with Johnson and emphasised that she is committed to working on her sobriety.

Lovato previously said of her recovery, “I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction. What I’ve learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet …

“I now need time to heal and focus on my sobriety and road to recovery … I look forward to the day where I can say I came out on the other side.”
