Demi Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama split after six years together

Lovato, 23, has dated Valderrama, 36, one of the stars of That 70s Show, since she was 17 and has credited him with helping her get sober and stay that way.

However it appears that the spark has gone f-rom their relationship.

“After almost 6 loving and wonderful years together, we have decided to end our relationship,” a statement said on Lovato’s Instagram account. “This was an incredibly difficult decision for both of us, be we have realised more than anything that we are better as best friends.”

The split came as Lovato also shared her sadness at the loss of her great-grandmother, attending her ‘Mimaw’s’ funeral earlier on Friday.

“Even the sky is crying today,” she wrote.

Lovato is about to start her Future Now tour with Nick Jonas.

Valderrama has just signed on for a guest stint on Grey’s Anatomy as ladies man Kyle Diaz.

Valderrama has had a long list of celebrity girlfriends starting when he was 17 and dating Ariana Ric-hards, aka the young girl f-rom Jurassic Park.

He then moved on to date his That 70s Show co-star Mila Kunis, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Mandy Moore, Mischa Barton, Ashlee Simpson, Avril Lavigne, Minka Kelly and Lindsay Lohan.

Lovato did date Joe Jonas for awhile before she hooked up with Valderrama.
