7 year oldBlack Friday is approaching fast, and retailers are already unveiling their special deals and discounts for the annual shopping holiday.
Thanksgiving takes place on Thursday, Nov. 23, which means Black Friday falls on Nov. 24. So far, Target, Toys R Us, Costco, Sears and JCPenney have released their Black Friday ads for shoppers to get a sneak peak at deals.
To aid in your holiday gift preparation, here is a guide to Black Friday sales and deals.
Please note that this article will be updated throughout the month of November as new stores reveal Black Friday deals.
Preview sales: Amazon (AMZN) has selected a few items to be featured in their “Countdown to Black Friday” deals week. Like Amazon’s existing “deals of the day,” these items will be available for 24 hours and updated daily.

When: For Black Friday sales, Target (TGT) stores will be open from 6 p.m. to midnight on Thanksgiving. Stores will reopen at 6 a.m. on Nov. 24, with deals available until Saturday, Nov. 25.
Preview deals: On Nov. 6, Target is running a preview sale to help customers get a jumpstart on their holiday shopping list. Deals include Beats Studio 2 wireless headphones for $159.99 (Reg. $379), VTech Digital Video Baby Monitor for $89.99 (Reg. $179.99) and 40% off of multipack Star Wars and Marvel action figures. Preview deals are available until 11:59 p.m. PST on Nov. 6.
Online: Black Friday deals will be available on Target.com on Thanksgiving morning. Shipping will be free on all orders.
Perks for REDcard holders: Guests who shop with their REDcard regularly save 5% on most items, but the perks ramp up this holiday season. On Wednesday, Nov. 22, Target will give REDcard holders early access to more than 100 Black Friday deals available on Target.com
Can’t miss deals: This year’s ad features some amazing deals for shoppers. Customers can get a 55” Westinghouse UHD TV for $249.99 (Reg. $399.99), an Xbox One S 500GB console for $189.99 (Reg. $279.99), and a KitchenAid Ultra Power Plus Mixer for $249.99 (Reg. $349.99). Additionally, Target will feature more than 1,000 toys under $10, and nearly 2,000 toys under $20.
For the first time, shoppers who spend $50 in stores or on Target.com on Nov. 24 will receive a 20% off coupon for a future visit.
When: Doors open at 9 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 24. Deals will be available until Nov. 27.
Online: A handful of deals will only be available online starting Nov. 23. This includes $350 off of the 15.6” HP Pavilion laptop with touchscreen, dropping the psale rice down to $799.99 (Reg. $1,149.99).
Can’t miss deals: If you’re looking for new discounted tech, Costco (COST) should be your first stop. Deals in the Black Friday ad include the 23.8” HP Pavilion All-in-One Desktop for $649.99 (Reg. $799.99), the Canon EOS Rebel T6 DSLR camera with two lenses for $449.99 (Reg. $549.99 ), and $100 off the Sony Playstation 4.
Membership: In order to take advantage of Costco deals, shoppers must purchase a membership. For $60 a year, you can become a Gold Star member, which is valid at all Costco locations worldwide.
When: Stores open on Thursday, Nov. 23. Deals are available through Friday, Nov. 24.
Preview deals: Can’t wait for Black Friday? No problem. JCPenney (JCP) has marked down a variety of appliances available now until Nov. 29. Some deals include the Samsung 25.5 cu refrigerator for $995 (Reg. $1,999), the LG 4.5 cu ultra large capacity front load washer and dryer set for $695 each (Reg. $999 each), and the Frigidaire 24” front-control dishwasher for $275 (Reg. 4399).
Can’t miss deals: JCPenney sells everything from shoes to TV, and they are all marked down in the Black Friday ad. The big draw will undoubtedly be the Samsung 55” 4K Smart TV for $499.99 (Reg. $699.99). Other amazing deals include, the iLive wireless speaker with Amazon Alexa for $39.99 (Reg. $99), discounted Nike apparel, and 30% to 50% off of all kids’ toys.
When: Deals and doorbusters will be available in-stores at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 23.
Online: Black Friday deals will be available online at 12:01 a.m. CT on Nov. 20. Doorbusters will be available at 12:01 a.m. CT on Nov. 23.
Can’t miss deals: In their Black Friday ad, Kohl’s features dozens of amazing doorbuster deals. These will be available in limited quantity for a limited time and include an Xbox One S 500 GB console for $189.99 (Reg. 279.99), a Haier 55” 4K Ultra HDTV for $299.99 (Reg. 399.99), and a Google Home for $79.99 (Reg. $129.99)
Other non-doorbuster deals include a Propel Sky Rider quadcopter for $49.99 (Reg. 149.99), the American Girl Nabi Tablet for $39.99 (Reg. $79.99), and a Razor Power Core electric scooter for $99.99 (Reg. $129.99).
In-store perks: Between Nov. 20-25, shoppers will receive $15 in Kohl’s cash for every $50 they spend. This money can be spent in stores between Nov. 26 and Dec. 6.
It’s no secret that both stores (which are owned by Sears holdings) have had a rough year, closing nearly 300 stores combined in 2017. In January, 45 additional Kmart and 18 Sears stores are slated to close. As a company, they are hoping to use this holiday season to get back on solid ground and help shoppers avoid the Black Friday shopping crunch. To do this, both stores are putting everything in stores on sale… now!
When: Deals start now and will be available until Saturday, Nov. 25.
Can’t miss deals: At Sears items will find items discounted by 10%-50% in stores. Some highlights include the Craftsman Dual Stage snowblower for $599.99 (Reg. $829.99), theSoozier Upright stationary exercise bike for $143.99 (Reg. 259.99), and the Kenmore Side-by-Side stainless steel refrigerator for $899.99 (Reg. 1,369.99)
At Kmart, items will be marked down from 10%-40%, with toys attracting the most attention. This month, customers can buy Hatchimals for $58.49 (Reg. 64.99), the Doc McStuffins Baby All-in-One nursery for $62.89 (Reg. $79.99), and the Kid Mortorz ride on Hummer for $197.99 (Reg. 219.99).
When: Toys R Us will open its doors at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving and remain open until 11pm on Friday, Nov. 24. That’s 30 hours of straight shopping for deal-seeking customers.
Preview deals: To help shoppers get in the holiday mood, Toy R Us is offering some deals early. To celebrate Military Appreciation Week, customers who show a valid Military ID will receive 15% off of in-store purchases from now until Saturday, Nov. 11.
The Toys R Us catalog is also offering special deals through Nov. 18, including a free $10 Toys R Us gift card on purchases of $75 or more.

Preview sales: Walmart has released their “Opening Act” holiday sales which are available now. This includes the KitchenAid Classic Series mixer for $199.99 (Reg. $259.99), The Samsung 551080 Smart LED TV for $497.99 (Reg. ($1,599.99), and the Dyson DC3 multi-floor bagless vacuum for $199.00 (Reg. $279.00).
