7 year oldThe 39-year-old Trump Organization executive decided to forgo being trailed by the cash-strapped agency last week in an attempt to find more privacy, the New York Times reported Monday, citing a senior member of Trump's administration.

Trump Jr.’s decision to cease Secret Service protections comes as the federal law enforcement agency finds itself running short on funds. Secret Service agents have accompanied the Trump sons, Donald and Eric, overseas to promote Trump-branded properties. So far in 2017, Eric Trump has ventured to the UK, Uruguay and the Dominican Republic. Both brothers have traveled to Dubai and Vancouver, B.C., with their security detail.
Trump’s other children and the Trump Organization headquarters in Manhattan continue to remain under the Secret Service’s watch.
The Secret Service automatically protects the commander-in-chief and their families, even after their White House tenure ends. Former President Richard Nixon declined to continue his protections after leaving the White House in 1974, opting for privately-funded security.
