“Bruno Mars is one of the most culturally impactful songwriters of his generation. We are honored to partner with him and support his future works through this global publishing relationship," Avex Inc CEO Katsumi Kuroiwa said.
Bruno Mars has entered into a publishing deal with Avex Music Group, the company announced Tuesday, putting the Japanese company in business with one of the biggest hitmakers in the music industry.
Avex will serve as Mars’ publishing administrator after the conclusion of his deal with BMG/Warner Chappell, the company said.
“Bruno Mars is one of the most culturally impactful songwriters of his generation,” Katsumi Kuroiwa, CEO of Avex Inc, said in a statement. “We are honored to partner with him and support his future works through this global publishing relationship.”
Mars is one of the most successful songwriters in the history of the music business, with 10 No. 1s on Billboard’s Hot 100 including one earlier this year for his single “I Just Might” from his latest album The Romantic and another last year with global smash duet “Die With A Smile” with Lady Gaga. He was also featured on Rosé’s “APT,” which was one of the biggest songs in the world last year and earned Grammy nominations for record and song of the year.
The Romantic marked Mars’ first album in a decade, following 2016’s 24K Magic. It debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s 200 albums chart and opened with 186,000 units. He’s taking the new music on the road this year with the Romantic tour, which starts in April and is widely expected to be one of the biggest concert tours of 2026.
“We are thrilled to welcome Bruno to Avex and look forward to supporting his incredible songs,” Avex Music Group CEO Brandon Silverstein said on Tuesday.
