8 year oldThe boyband announced last year they would be taking a one-year rest after they wrapped their Up All Night tour.
But it appears like fans might be in for a much longer wait for the group, pictured below when they were at full capacity, to reform for new gigs.
A source told the Daily Star: “One Direction are not coming together in a year or even two.
“The fans have hoped that the group would honour their announcement of returning within 12 months.
“But that is a long way off and the boys are not even on track to mention a comeback.
“All four are loving their own solo freedom.”
The source added former bandmates Harry Styles, 22, above, and Louis Tomlinson, 24,below, were not even on speaking terms when the band decided to take some time apart.
Since the ‘hiatus’ began in October, Tomlinson had his first child Freddie in January and is living in Los Angeles.
Liam Payne, 22, is making headlines after going public with his relationship with Cheryl Fernandez-Versini despite the 10-year age gap.
And Styles has been booked to star in his first feature film, World War Two epic Dunkirk, alongside Tom Hardy and Cillian Murphy.
