Emmys 2026 winners list: Widow's Bay, The Pitt take top honours

The Noah Wyle-led gritty, medical drama The Pitt swept up the top prizes at the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards on Monday night, including best drama series and best lead actor for Wyle. The HBO show entered the night riding high, topping the nominations with 25 nods.

But it was Apple TV's comedy-horror series, Widow's Bay that dominated, snagging the brass ring of the night: best comedy series, along with several other awards, including best lead actor in a comedy series, best supporting actor and actress in a comedy series and outstanding writing and directing in a comedy series. After Monday night it won a total of 14 Emmys out of its 19 nominations.

Another Apple TV juggernaut, post-apocalyptic Pluribus also picked up a couple awards from its 18 nominations, including best lead actress in a drama and outstanding writing.

Meanwhile HBO's American dark comedy, DTF St. Louis walked away with several trophies including best limited series.

Actor and philanthropist, Michael J. Fox, 65, also received the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award — one of the highest honours presented by the Television Academy board — for his work in advancing Parkinson's disease research.

This year's marquee ceremony was hosted by Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star, Mariska Hargitay, who picked up a couple of Emmys prior, for documentary My Mom Jayne during the two-night Creative Arts Emmys presented Sept. 5 and 6.
