The athlete — who also doubles as a reality star while sometimes appearing on “The Kardashians” when he (is and) isn’t cheating on Khloe Kardashian — rejoined the Cavaliers in September after signing a one-year contract.
Thompson, who previously spent nine seasons with Cleveland, won an NBA title with the Cavs in 2016. He appeared in four straight Finals on teams led by LeBron James, with whom he played late last season with the Los Angeles Lakers.
The basketball player amped up his excitement about rejoining the Cavs about a week ago, showing fans on Instagram that he reunited with his former jersey number: 13.
“Never let anything stop you from your vision. Manifested big things. We started here in the land together in 2011 and through thick and thin you were mine,” he wrote.
“Wearing any other number didn’t feel right. Back together, Number 13 forever.”
Thompson also said in October that it felt “good” to be back on his old team.
“It’s a real full-circle moment,” he shared with News 5 Cleveland. “The best thing about it is that a lot of familiar faces that were here in my first time around are still here which shows that Kobe … has done a good job building from within.”
He added, “That’s what makes this place really special.”
