Zayn Malik just gave the most bizarre reason for quitting One Direction

It’s been over a year since Zayn Malik walked away from One Direction. All we’ve ever wanted to know is: why, why why? For his solo career, yes, but we knew there had to be another reason. So what was it? Artistic differences with the guys? Too much fame? We finally know the answer, and it’s not at all what we expected.

“An alien spoke to me in a dream,” Zayn said in an interview with Glamour. Yes, you heard that correctly: He got the idea to leave 1D from a dream. Specifically, an alien in a dream.

Unfortunately, we don’t have much more info beyond that, because Zayn revealed the info during a rapid-fire interview session. So now we’re left with even more questions than we had before. Does Zayn make all of his decisions based on dreams? Did the alien say anything else? What was it wearing?

Of course, there’s always the chance that Zayn is totally messing with us, and just being facetious about the whole thing. No doubt he’s been asked that question a lot in the last year, so maybe he’s just coming up with new, more creative ways to answer it.
