London's Metropolitan Police are now investigating allegations by seven women over 11 incidents that reportedly took place from the 1980s to 2015.

London police have widened their investigation into sexual assault claims against disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein.

London's Metropolitan Police said Tuesday that they were now investigating allegations by seven women over incidents that reportedly took place from the 1980s to 2015.

The news comes just days after the British Film Institute stripped Weinstein of its highest honor, saying his alleged "appalling conduct" stands in opposition to the organization's values. Weinstein denies having any nonconsensual sexual activity.

Officers from the London Metropolitan Police's Child Abuse and Sexual Offences Command are now "investigating allegations of sexual assault from seven victims under Operation Kaguyak," who have reported 11 alleged incidents in Britain, the police said Tuesday. That means three new accusers have come forward over the past week. Police added that there has been no arrest at this stage.

The Met police, also known as Scotland Yard, emphasized again that its press office "does not identify any person who may, or may not, be subject to an investigation unless they have been charged with a criminal offense," so Weinstein's name was not mentioned.

"On 11 October, Merseyside Police referred an allegation of sexual assault to the Metropolitan Police Service. It is alleged that a man sexually assaulted a woman (Victim 1) in the late 1980s in west London," Scotland Yard said Tuesday in reiterating a past comment. "On 14 October we received allegations that the same man sexually assaulted a woman (Victim 2) in Westminster in 2010 and 2011, and in Camden in 2015. On 15 October an allegation was received that the man sexually assaulted a woman (Victim 3) in Westminster in 1992."

The police also said: "On 20 October an allegation was received that the man sexually assaulted a woman (Victim 4) outside the jurisdiction of the U.K. in the early 1980s. The allegation will be passed to the local police force in due course."

The list of allegations continued. "On 24 October an allegation was received that the man sexually assaulted a woman (Victim 5) in Westminster in the mid-1990s," Scotland Yard said. "On 26 October allegations were received that the man sexually assaulted a woman (Victim 6) outside the jurisdiction of the U.K. in 2012, and in Westminster in 2013 and 2014. The 2012 allegation will be passed to the relevant police force in due course."

Finally, "on 28 October an allegation was received that the man sexually assaulted a woman (Victim 7) in Westminster in 1994," Scotland Yard said.
