Griffin was sacked from CNN’s New Year’s Eve broadcast and criticised by everyone from Chelsea Clinton to good friend, Anderson Cooper, saying that her joke went too far.
The 56-year-old’s lawyer Lisa Bloom announced on Twitter that the pair would be holding a joint press conference later today after Griffin posted a controversial image of her holding what looked like a bloody, decapitated head of US President Donald Trump.

Ms Bloom said they would “explain the true motivation behind the image, and respond to bullying from the Trump family that she has endured.”

Mr Trump said Griffin should be “ashamed of herself” and that his 11-year-old son, Barron, was “having a hard time with this”.

Mr Trump’s son, Don Jr, daughter-in-law, Lara, and First Lady, Melania Trump, have all attacked Griffin in the wake of the controversy.
