Just months after beating breast cancer, Jessie J has revealed she and long-term partner secretly ended their five-year relationship.
Jessie J has announced she has split from her long-term boyfriend after five years together.
The British singer shared the shock news on her Instagram grid overnight, revealing that she and retired Danish-Israeli pro-basketball player Chanan Colman have secretly parted ways.
“Chanan and I decided to end our romantic relationship some time ago,” she began in her post, “it has been a sad and difficult situation, but we have been focused on navigating the change privately and positively for a healthy and happy co parenting environment for our son, and ourselves.”
The split comes three years after the couple welcomed their only child together, Sky – and
Jessie J was speaking out to “let people know the truth, before rumours circulate or a false narrative is written”.
“Unfortunately being in the public eye this is the easiest way,” the singer – real name Jessica Cornish – said. “We will always continue supporting each other with love, respect and care as friends and most importantly being Sky’s mum and Dad.”
“So if you see us out and about together as a family every now and again. That’s exactly what we’re doing. Raising and loving Sky together, supported with a positive friendship,” she concluded.
The pair were first linked in 2021, one year after she ended her two-year, on-off relationship with Channing Tatum – and she got her happy ending when she and Colman became parents in 2023.
“I adore this boy and this man so much, I could tear up,” she told People magazine last year. “[Chanan] has exceeded my expectations as a father beyond my imagination. I’m so grateful that he is so present and just so willing to adapt around obviously my career.”
In the same interview, she said that she wasn’t in any rush to get married.
“I would love to get married when Sky’s old enough to know what’s happening so that he can be really a part of it and enjoy that moment of seeing Mummy and Daddy come together in our love,” she said.
“We have a child. I feel like that is the most locked in that we can feel with each other.”
The sad break-up comes just two months after the Price Tag singer confirmed she was cancer-free following a battle breast cancer. She was first diagnosed in 2025 and had a mastectomy after her shock diagnosis.
“I was diagnosed with early breast cancer. Cancer sucks in any form, but I’m holding on to the word ‘early,’” she said at the time, before joking, “It’s a very dramatic way to get a boob job.”
The star, who was spared chemotherapy due to the early discovery, was beside herself one year later when getting her cancer-free MRI result.
“I sobbed for hours and then exhaled for the first time in a year,” she captioned in an Instagram video back in May.
