Jaylen Brown called out the Boston Celtics for what he described as a "lack of respect" in the process leading up to his trade to the Philadelphia 76ers.

"Boston, they packed me up," Brown said during a Thursday night Twitch stream. "Boston, they packed me up, my boy. God. Out of there."

Brown spoke with his new teammates VJ Edgecombe and Tyrese Maxey later on the stream.

"I'm a fan of your game," Brown told Edgecombe.

While speaking about his former team, Brown said he felt the Celtics had poor communication with him prior to the trade.

"Pack your bags, sayonara, buddy. Out of here," Brown said. "I will say, I'm still processing everything, to be honest. It's a bunch of excitement, disappointment. It's a bunch of emotions. I'm still processing everything, so give me some time.

"I will say, there was definitely a message being sent, and that message was received. I wasn't thrilled with the amount of respect that was shown during this process. I think there was a bit of a lack of respect."

The Celtics traded Brown to the Sixers on Wednesday in exchange for a package including Paul George and two first-round picks.

"I think Brad is probably getting a lot of the criticism. I wasn't thrilled with the way he facilitated some of the conversations," Brown said. "But I definitely think there's more to it... I just wish that the more to it could have been explained to me, because if the more to it was explained, I think I would've understood.

"I thought I earned respect enough to get that explanation, but hey, obviously I was wrong."

Brown also said he found out the trade was real because his key card didn't let him into the Celtics' facility.

"I went up to the facility, my key card got rejected," Brown said. "Damn. I just wanted to see if it was real."

Brown said it was an "honor" to close out his career with the Celtics with a season during which he was mostly the team's primary offensive leader in the monthslong injury absence of Jayson Tatum.

"This was my last year as a Celtic. This was an awesome year," Brown said. "They counted us out. They said that we wasn't gonna be this, or wasn't gonna be that, and we showed up."

"People dismiss that because of how it ended, and I guess that, but the process of how got there, and the work ethic, and the guys buying in, and the guys growing and allowing me to lead them, and just getting it done night to night— just was an honor. It was an honor."

Brown also addressed comments from NBA analyst Colin Cowherd, who criticized Brown's livestreaming and cited league sources saying Brown thinks he's "the smartest guy in any room he's in."

"I think the world craves authenticity right now... me and Colin Cowherd can agree to disagree on that," Brown said, before criticizing Cowherd for using anonymous sources.

Brown also called out the Charlotte Hornets' LaMelo Ball and Minnesota Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards:

Brown initially said in a statement he was "excited and disappointed" about the move.

He said Thursday he was still in the process of adjusting his mindset after the trade.

"My brain is doing a 360 right now. Literally, I've been programmed to be like what, Philly? Nah, smoke. Now it's what, Boston? Now it's smoke the other way. It's completely reversed."

Brown added: "A lot of people have reached out already, so I'm excited about the community."

Brown is headed into the third year of his five-year, $285 million deal. He is now set to join a starting lineup also starring Tyrese Maxey, Edgecombe, Dean Wade and Joel Embiid in Philadelphia next fall.
