Taylor Swift appeared to lash out at broadcaster CBS after the camera once again turned to her as the Chiefs took on the Ravens.
Taylor Swift is just as sick of it as everyone else is.
Ever since she started dating NFL star Travis Kelce, the pop star is ubiquitous in the sport’s coverage of every Kansas City Chiefs game.
She’s been a regular at the games over the season and the cameras follow her every move. But today the pop star signalled she’d had enough, appearing to mouth a message to broadcasters pleading to be left alone.
The impact of Tay Tay and her legion of Swifties is bringing extra attention to the NFL, with some estimates putting her impact on the game’s brand value at $500 million ($US331.5 million).
And there’s often lots to talk about. Last week Swift was joined by Travis Kelce’s brother Jason.
And at one point he got so excited he ripped off his shift to celebrate the team’s victory over the Buffalo Bills in a made-for-TV moment.
But the constant media attention on the star is touching a nerve and she appeared to lash out at broadcaster CBS.
At today’s game, as broadcast once again switched to Swift, she reacted by purportedly mouthing the words, “Go away please!”.
Fans reacted to the viral clip with one writing, “Even she knows they overdoing it.”
Another added, “You know what, she’s got my respect. I know she’s never been at fault for the constant coverage of her at these she games as it’s been nauseating to no end.
“Really wish the networks would stop this as they only need to show her and other celebrities once.
“She’s there as a fan and spectator, nothing more and less. Media coverage of her at these games has not helped as it’s unintentionally made her an enemy among passionate sports fans.”
Despite the moment, Swift ran dashed out to hug and kiss Kelce after his team won the AFC Championship Game 17-10 against the Baltimore Ravens in the at M&T Bank Stadium to reach the Super Bowl.
The win puts Swift in a difficult position, with the Super Bowl on February 12 (Australia time) and the first Australian concert of her Eras Tour in Melbourne on February 17.
There was massive demand in Australia for the concert last year, with the Ticketek release causing a virtual shutdown across many workplaces as millions queued online to purchase a ticket.
